Alaverdi Resort
Located next to the historic Alaverdi Monastery, the 38-key resort draws its architectural language from Georgia’s ecclesiastical and rock-cut heritage.
References to Uplistsikhe, David Gareja and Vardzia are translated into contemporary forms through arches, sculpted volumes and a restrained palette of natural stone, wood and earth-toned finishes. Guest rooms take cues from the simplicity of monastic cells, reinterpreted for contemporary hospitality.
The complex is organised across two levels, with the main accommodation volumes elevated above the landscape and public and recreational spaces occupying the level below. This approach minimises the building footprint, allowing the landscape to flow beneath and between the architecture.
